A Beautiful Winter Proposal

30 May 2017 | Engagement

I’ve had this blog post sitting in my drafts for months now. Waiting for adequate words to note down, to serve this afternoon justice. I don’t know if they will ever come, so here we go. Karley is an amazing woman. She is a teacher who cares deeply for her students, and works her butt off for them. She is funny, incredibly caring, and last but certainly not least – she is my cousin. We were the only girls out of our cousin bunch growing up, so we have a really special relationship. It’s no wonder Adam wants to marry this girl – to say she is a catch is an understatement. Adam had been planning this proposal for a long time. He kept us in the loop about his plans, and once the ring came in it was go time. It was a chilly winter day, and I made up a big story about needing them to model for us, and we got Karley on board with the photo shoot. It was time for this beautiful winter proposal.

We had a signal all figured out with Adam. I had a clear vision of the photo Gareth captured of Adam down on one knee, them in the middle of the path. We couldn’t have planned it out better – it all went off to absolute perfection. To be honest though, the plan stopped mattering as soon as it was all happening. What mattered was them, in this moment. This once in a lifetime moment between two people. We were just there to capture it.

We didn’t stay out too long, it was damn cold! We had bubbly waiting for us all back at our house, as we celebrated this new beginning.

I can’t WAIT for this wedding. I can’t wait to see Karley and Adam take this next step. And if I know them at all, they’ll be taking it hand in hand, with a life full of laughter.

Love you both xox
