Cassie and Armando Basilica Wedding

25 January 2023 | Weddings

Holy what a wedding!! Stunning couple, stunning venue, FUN wedding party – it made for such an amazing day! I am no stranger to these two, as I photographed their engagement session on a gorgeous summer evening -check it out! From there, Cassie and I got to chatting more and more, and I just starting feeling more and more comfortable with her! We ran into them at Armando’s cousin wedding as well, so I was SO ready fo Cassie and Armando Basilica Wedding.

Now, I have to tell you something. Cassie showed up to their pre wedding meeting with SO many ideas! She really wanted some really specific shots, so we went through them all, we LOVED her ideas, and man we were ready. But honestly, I was also nervous! Cassie had some big dreams and expectations for her wedding photos, but it was in a really good day. She showed me some new ideas, and then she put them aside and she was ready to enjoy her day.

Cassie had a lot of ideas she wanted captured during the getting ready photos. So guess what she did – she set aside enough time for us to do them! If you have a lot of fun, creative ideas, you have to have enough time to get them done. If you want the fun photos of your bridesmaids in their robes, or with the flower girls, or these really fun shots of the groom and groomsmen in their superhero shirts, we need enough time to do it! You also need to let everyone know your plans. The flower girls mom knew Cassie wanted the girls in the getting ready photos, so their hair was done, dresses

I think it’s awesome when clients show up with ideas! I love it when we’re pushed and stretched to try new things. Cassie did this the perfect way – she showed me her ideas, and then she put her trust in me, put all the photos and paper aside on the wedding day, and she truly just enjoyed. I had some big dreams to fulfill, but I trusted us. I trusted that we would make all her wedding photo dreams come true with our imagination and her wicked ideas.

Trust me when I tell you – don’t carry around a list on your wedding day. Don’t pull out your phone and insist you replicate a photo exactly. There is SO much that goes into a photo that you might not be thinking of – the couple’s heights, the light, the time of day, the venue, the dress, the veil – SO much! So hire a photographer you trust, hire one you feel comfortable with to bounce ideas off, and then release it. Trust us. And truly enjoy your wedding day.

” Shauna and Gareth are two of the most down to earth, and genuine people you will ever meet!

It was an easy decision for my husband and I to choose who we wanted to capture our special day back in July 2022. They are incredibly knowledgeable at what they do, they ensure you are comfortable in front of the camera at all times, and most importantly, they have fun with us all while ensuring our day was memorable and fun.

It is incredible to watch this duo work – they aren’t afraid to get into any position to capture every possible angle. We had such a carefree and easy day with them on both our engagement photoshoot, and our wedding day. Shauna and Gareth went above and beyond our expectations! I have the two of them many ideas in which they expanded on them and came up with many more ideas that I could not of ever imagined.

Looking back at our pictures brings us right back to our day and the moments that happened throughout it. Shauna even went out of her way to help wit our wedding invites, suggesting the picture from our engagement session and changing it from horizontal to vertical. We feel as if we have created a life long bond to them, and found photographers who truly care.’
